The Polk TPO believes that transportation systems should not only be safe and efficient, but also represent their unique, diverse and vibrant community. Pedestrian and bicycle safety is an area of focus for the Polk TPO. There were 262 fatalities resulting from pedestrian and bicycle crashes between 2011 – 2021.
