Polk TPO Schedules Community Workshops

The Polk Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) is developing a multimodal long range transportation plan for the year 2035. This planning effort, which has been named the “2035 Mobility Vision Plan,” will identify future transportation needs and present a vision for how transportation investments and policies will guide and promote the long term growth plan for Polk County. The 2035 Mobility Vision Plan (MVP) will be developed to ensure the overall transportation system will operate safely and successfully into the future and include road, transit, bicycle, sidewalk (pedestrian), and multi-use trail projects.

The Polk TPO is required by federal and state law to update the Long Range Transportation Plan every five years. This ongoing effort is an update to the currently adopted 2030 TRIP Plan and will be complete in December 2010.

At this point in time a draft plan is complete and the TPO is seeking input and feedback from the community. Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in our public workshops scheduled:
