Polk TPO Board Expands to 23 voting members

Bartow, Fla. (Dec. 19, 2024) – The Polk Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) Board has adopted an amendment to the Membership Apportionment Plan, increasing the Board’s voting members from 19 to 23 seats. This decision was made at the TPO Board meeting held on Thursday, Dec. 19.
The amendment includes several key changes:
- Haines City and City of Winter Haven: Each gain an additional voting member seat, bringing Haines City to a total of two seats and Winter Haven to three seats.
- Davenport and Lake Alfred: Each have been granted their own individual voting member seat, separating them from the previously shared East County Bloc. The East County Bloc will now be referred to as the Central County and Ridge Bloc.
Shared Voting Membership Rotation
The South County Bloc and the Central County and Ridge Bloc will continue to rotate their voting membership annually among representatives.
- South County Bloc: City of Fort Meade, City of Mulberry and City of Frostproof.
- Central County and Ridge Bloc: Town of Dundee, City of Eagle Lake, City of Polk City and Town of Lake Hamilton.
