Zoning Board

The Joint Airport Zoning Board is responsible for managing and enforcing airport zoning regulation to ensure airspace protection and land use compatibility around airports. Established under Florida statues, the JAZB works to prevent the creation of airport hazards by administering zoning rules, deciding on permit applications and handling zoning-related matters.

The JAZB works with the Polk TPO to ensure that airport zoning regulations are integrated with transportation planning. This collaboration helps align local government efforts with airport zoning requirements.
